Every year Art Vancouver supports local charities, the 2019 charity of our choice is ArtStarts.
We believe in a world where art is essential in educating our young people.
ArtStarts expands the role of art in education to activate learning for young people across BC.
ArtStarts in Schools is a charitable organization that promotes art and creativity among British Columbia’s young people. Since 1996, ArtStarts has supported and promoted professional arts presentations and artist-led programs in urban, rural and remote regions of British Columbia. ArtStarts’ key areas of activity include booking school performances, an annual performing arts showcase for young audience presenters, artist residencies, grants to schools and districts, professional learning opportunities for artists and teachers, gallery exhibitions of young people’s art and free family programming.
